Where do I start with this gorgeous Soft Glam palette 😍
Anastasia Beverly Hills have upped their game with this mixture of subtle day time shades and amazing shimmers for more of a night time look.
I must admit, I was sceptical about trying this palette, as I struggle with their Subculture palette in terms of blending and the shimmers not being so, shimmery 🙃
This is the absolute opposite, and I can’t stress that enough! The colours blend out nicely, leaving no harsh smudges or patchy pigmentation on the eyes.
I was surprised at how shimmery and smooth the glitter shades are – these are seriously so much better performing than other ABH shimmers I have used!
The mixture of colours in this palette is to die for, and the name really suits the palette well. ‘Soft’ would represent the pale and more subtle shades, and ‘Glam’ describes the bold metallics and deep reds/oranges. Combining the two together – you have a palette perfect for any occasion in my opinion.
One thing that may put some people off this palette is the fact some shades in Soft Glam also appear in the Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance palette. The shades ‘Tempera’, ‘Cyprus Umber’ and ‘Burnt Orange’ are in both palettes. These are quite staple colours that work well with a lot of shades, however for the price of the palettes I would personally like all different shades!
If you’d like to know how I created this look, read on!
To start, I used the shade ‘Dusty Rose’ as a base layer, and applied this all over the lid and crease with a large brush, blending out after to ensure this is not too harsh.
I then used ‘Sienna’ to shade the outer corners of the eye and into the crease to create some depth and add some darker colour. I then darkened the corners further with ‘Mulberry’ for a more glam look – however if this is for daytime this part could be skipped!
I blended this out with my faveeee ever NYX blending brush! To add an extra glamorous pop of colour and to lighten this up, I swept on the shimmer shade ‘Rose Pink’ with my finger for extra pigment and shine.
I hope you’ve enjoyed this post!
